Join us as we return to Fort Wayne at the stunning Union Street Market, located in the historic Electric Works campus. This site dates back to the 1880s with the founding of the Fort Wayne Jenney Electric Company, which pioneered the commercial electrical outdoor lighting system known as the Jenney Arc Light. In 1898, General Electric acquired the company and shifted its focus from lighting to electric motor manufacturing. The plant became renowned for its innovation, producing the first modern refrigerator, the electric garbage disposal, and numerous advancements in electric motors and transformers.

By the late 1940s, GE employed about 40% of Fort Wayne's workforce. Designed by the esteemed architectural firm Harris & Richards of Philadelphia, the campus was home to the manufacturing of electrical apparatus, including fractional electrical motors for appliances and electrical transformers. During World War II, this significant industrial site played a crucial role in supporting the war effort.

We are excited to kick off our first Fort Wayne event of the year at this historic location, where CRE professionals will have the opportunity to connect over food and drinks. Join us to network and experience the rich history and vibrant future of Electric Works.
