As the Technology and Thermal Systems Leader at Trane Technologies, Ron Cosby is responsible for overseeing the company’s technological developments for North American Commercial HVAC products and services. During his 20-plus years at Trane Technologies, he has managed the design and quality of heating and cooling systems, reviewed and directed internal technology development and leveraged and assessed external technologies to bring clean, reliable conditioned air and water solutions to customers.
Since joining the company, Ron has brought his engineering expertise to a wide range of products and projects including absorption, centrifugal and screw/scroll chillers, unitary systems, air handlers and building cooling systems. In his current position, he helps to apply his expertise in indoor air quality to assess commercial air systems components and offerings to ensure proper humidity levels, enhanced ventilation and air cleaning for customers.
Ron currently serves on the Americas Commercial HVAC Patent Committees for Trane Technologies contributing to product innovations and road-mapping.
Prior to joining Trane Technologies, Ron worked as a combustion engineer for GE Appliances.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Purdue University and went on to earn his master’s in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
